Download the keyboard from an external company
If your device did not come with a keyboard that has built-in emoji, you can download an external keyboard that has them. The most obvious option is Google Keyboard (which is available for all Android devices running a version 4.0 or higher), but other keyboards like Swype, SwiftKey and Minuum also have emojis included.
Finally, we give you a little warning. If you have a limited text message plan, it will be worthwhile to check that your device sends emojis as emoji symbols and not as MMS or picture messages.
